Package your creations in one grid and have it work in all grids without any modifications!

Skidz Partz Open PackIt is a packaging system for boxing up larger builds. The biggest advantage to Open PackIt is that every script needed to unpack the package is open source. This means it becomes possible to package your build in one grid and move it to another. It also uses special techniques to capture and maintain all the data position points so when you import it into another grid it will just work! This will work with any build you have made!

Note: To import your items into a different grid, you will have to use import and export tool such as Stored Inventory, formerly known as Second Inventory.

Introduction

The beauty of fire brought to Second Life. Whether you're drawn to its intoxicating dance of light, or the warmth that surrounds you in the dark night, everyone loves a good fire. This fire has a unique design, is one-of-a-kind in SL, and turned out better than I could ever hope for.

Ten beautiful windows that open and close. Each window is only two prims, and only one if you remove the glass. The windows were specifically designed not to distort at any distance or graphic card quality.  Window 1 is a set developed for builders who design structures for end users or for personal use. Downloadable Photoshop PSD image file makes it super easy to change colors, and with the custom Actions included you can export all 20 textures in a matter of seconds. I also encourage you to share these textures using the TMat share box, and I will send them out to the group. All windows can be linked and delinked and still function properly. Permissions granted to use on private OpenSims (Please read the VERY IMPORTANT Permissions section below for more details).

Features

►   Includes downloadable PSD Image to change colors

►   Downloadable Photoshop Actions to export textures

►   Will not distort at any distance

►   Ambient lighting built into all textures

►   Windows will open and close on touch

►   Open and close sounds

►   10 styles of the windows

►   Linkable

►   Only 2 prims per window

►   Remove glass to make each window only 1 prim

►   Super low script runtime at 0.005

►   Full permissions on textures and sculpty image maps, but require you to set
no trans for next owner.

►   Scripts are Copy/Trans/No Mod

you do this.

the folder type to Sculpty

How to Unpack the Textures and Sculpties to Yourself

The boxes that hold the sculpties and textures have built in menus that help you
do this.

1. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Texture Dark Brown Light Brown"

2. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Sculpties"

3. Touch "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Sculpties" object

4. From the menu Choose "Give 2 Me"

5. Repeat 3 through 4 for "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Texture Dark Brown Light Brown" object

How to Change a Window to a Different Set

When textures are removed from the window it will automatically prompt you to
choose a new set. Just follow these directions:

1. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Texture Dark Brown Light Brown"

2. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Sculpties"

3. Edit just the frame of the window, and delete all the textures

4. A dialog will appear asking which set you would like to use

5. Choose a set from the menu

How to Make a Window with you as the Creator

I tried to make this very simple. Just ensure the sculpty and texture boxes are out,
and drop a script into your prim.

1. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Texture Dark Brown Light Brown"

2. Drop out the object "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 Sculpties"

3. Make a prim from your Build/Edit window

a) Click the blue button, "Build"

b) Click the ground anywhere and a prim will be rezzed

4. Drag the script "Skidz Skulptz Window Frame Main" into your prim

5. A dialog box will appear in the top left of your screen

6. In the dialog choose the set you wish to make this prim

7. Now to add the glass

8. Create a new prim

9. Drop in the script "Glass Script"

10. Position the glass prim inside the window frame (do this before you link)

11. Link the glass to the frame

How to Change the Color

To change the color you will need to download the PSD (link below). Then you simply
change the color of some layers on image and export them with a custom action.
All color layers are Masked and named well to make it very simple.

1. Download the zip file at Here

2. Extract the files into a working folder

3. Double click the file "Skidz Skulptz Window 1.atn"; this will open up PhotoShop

4. Open the file "Skidz Skulptz - Window 1 - Textures.psd"

5. Find the folders "Colors" and expand it in the layers window

6. In each layer in the Colors folder you can change the color with the "Paint Bucket"
tool (G Key)

7. Be sure to make each layer color the same in the corresponding open and close folders

8. In the actions window run the action "Skidz Skulptz Window 1/Save Open"

9. In the actions window run the action "Skidz Skulptz Window 1/Save Close"

10. In your "C:\" Directory you will find the 20 textures there

11. Move them to your work folder

12. Rename them changing the words "Color_Color" to the two colors you used for the frame. For example "T_Window_1_Color_Color_Set_1_Open.tga" becomes "T_Window_1_DarkBrown_LightBrown_Set_1_Open.tga"

13. Upload the textures to Second Life

Note: It is important you keep the "T_" "_Set_#_" and "_Open" or "_Close" in the texture name. This information is used in the scripts to determine which texture is which.

Share your Custom Colored Textures you Made with Others

I encourage you to share any custom color textures you make with everyone. You do require the TMat Organizer (sold separately).

1. Place them into your TMat Texture organizer (see the TMat Organizer read me for more details)

2. Open the textures are by Touching the folder

3. Touch the folder again to bring up the menu

4. Choose Share from the menu

5. Choose to share all the new textures you just uploaded

6. Take the share box

7. Right click and edit your TMat

8. Drop the share box into the TMat and click Yes on the dialog box

How to Build a Window Manually

I can't think of any reason you wouldn't want to use the technique above under "How to Make a Window with you as the Creator," but I thought I would include this just in case

1. Follow the instructions for "How to unpack the textures and sculpties to yourself"

2. Rez a prim

3. Drop in one open sculpty texture, and one closed sculpty texture. Ensure both are of the same set. (Hint, they start with "S_")

4. Drop in one open texture, and one close texture. Ensure both are for the same set you choose when you dropped in the sculpty textures. (Hint, they start with "T_")

5. Drop in the script "Skidz Skulptz Window Frame Main"

6. Now to make the glass; rez another prim

7. Drop the sculpty in "Glass Open", and "Glass Closed"

8. Drop in the script named "GlassScript"

9. Position the glass inside the window frame (do this before you link it)

10. Link the glass

11. Test by touching it

12. Adjust the glass as needed

* As the owner of this window set, you are allowed to build homes, and sell those homes with the included windows, textures, and sculpty image maps.

* You are not allowed to sell or give away any of the textures, sculpty image maps, or windows by themselves, or as a package with others.

* It is OK to export the sculpties and textures onto a private OpenSim that you administrate but the License Agreement apply there as well.

Details:

By purchasing, accepting delivery, and/or using the parts included in this package, you are agreeing to the following terms exerted under the exclusive rights granted to Skidz Partz and skidz Tweak by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):

a) you MAY NOT give the components away as they were provided to you

b) you MAY NOT resell the components as they were provided to you

c) you MAY transfer to Private OpenSim you administrate; all the rules still apply

d) you MAY NOT transfer to an alt with transferable permissions

e) you MAY transfer to an alt with copy and modify permissions only

f) you MAY make yourself the creator of the objects (NOT textures or sculpty image maps); License Agreement would still apply

Further Explanation:

The Skidz Partz - Skidz Skulpz - Window 1 is a set developed for builders who design structures for end users or for personal use. Full permissions strictly applies to you, the purchaser. All scripts are provided no-modify. Under no circumstances may this set be transferred to any other user as-is. You are agreeing to not resell or give away the parts as obtained.

None of the textures or sculpt maps included in any of the sets by Skidz Partz or skidz Tweak are to be sold in Second Life or any other grid as they were provided to you, be it indivudually, or in a group of others.  None of the textures or sculpt maps included in any of the sets by Skidz Partz or skidz Tweak are to be copied with the exception of the default copy function built into Second Life or Second Inventory, copying directly to yourself, the purchaser. Backup copies of these items in Second Inventory may not be reimported in to any of Linden Labs grids, but can be imported into a private Opensim that you administrate where all the same permissions apply there as well. Furthermore, by purchasing, accepting delivery, and/or using these textures and image maps, you are agreeing to not resell or give away the item as obtained. You may not resell them as textures, sculpty image maps, or individual sculpties.  Skidz Partz retains records and local files with creation dates logged, etc., to protect against this. Violations of this agreement will be reported to Linden Labs and is in violation of the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). Skidz Partz WILL enforce this. For more information on this act please go to the following link: http://www.unc.edu/~unclng/copy-corner7.htm

You may use scripts that call the UUID to these sculpts, however once a script calls the UUID it is important that you follow the same rules applied. The script must be no modify, and you can use either transfer or copy, not both on it.

These terms are subject to change at any time without notice. Be sure to visit the webpage for the latest agreement.

FAQ

Q. It says no distortion, but when I open/close the window, they distort for a second. Why?

A. You are seeing this because the sculpty texture is not cached in your SL viewer. You can avoid this by leaving 1 window open all the time, ensuring it is cached.

Q. I applied the sculpty by hand. It doesn't look right! What's wrong?

A. This is an easy fix. Just use a cylinder instead of a sphere.

Q. Why does the custom action save the images to my C:\ drive instead of a folder?

A. I tried to make it work with relative paths, but couldn't achieve it. The only directory I am 99.9% sure exists on your computer, is the "C:\" directory. If you know of a better way, please let me know.

Q. Why do you make me do that "Before You Get Started Part"?

A. This process really wouldn't stop a malicious person from transfering them to someone else with full permissions, but it will stop you from accidently giving away the textures and sculpties with full permissions. That is what I hoped to avoid by doing that.

Big board is yet another board to display messages. So what sets this one apart from all the others?

It only uses ONE script, and it's incredibly easy to use!

The Big Board comes with two sizes, and can be unlinked, "added to"/"removed from" and relinked as well. Change the color and text of each line in just seconds.
